I have shifted into a less hopeful mode in order to more properly focus on what I can do by taking care of myself. But I don’t mind these rays of sunshine!!

I think that’s smart!

Having had ME/CFS for 36 years and seen treatments come and go—and then having been hammered by additional symptoms and much worse fatigue after COVID—I mostly don’t hope anymore for medicine to help me. But since my husband’s only had long COVID for 5 years, I do hope to come across something that might help him. Thank you for doing this work!

That must be really tough for both of you- at least I’m sure he benefits from your very hard won experience. Best wishes to both of you

I’m pretty certain the residual, biological effects of LC will eventually kill me. I’ve stopped hoping for a treatment. I know five years isn’t that long in medical terms, but five years being exhausted all the time takes a toll. So does the disbelief of family and friends. And if another medical professional tells me it’s all in my head, I swear I’ll stick his stethoscope so far up his ass, he’ll need surgery to retrieve it (the ones who say this have all been men). So, to answer your question, I get on with things as best I can.
